I was in a bit of a rush trying to order some hops, and the site made it more frustrating than it needed to be. The pages felt slow and kind of clunky, and the filters didn’t really narrow things down much. Checkout also took me a couple tries, which was annoying. The prices seemed fine, but the website itself wasn’t easy to deal with.

I tried using the promo code at checkout , but it just wouldn’t go through . The discount email felt pointless after that , especially since the offer was still being advertised . When I contacted support , they only said it had expired , which was frustrating

In the end, the IPA just didn’t turn out how I hoped. The hop flavor came through really dull, with this weird grassy note that threw the whole beer off. I used them like I normally would, but the result tasted flat and not very fresh.

I was hoping to find a decent range of hops, but apparently that was a bit too optimistic. The selection felt limited compared to what I expected, and a few varieties I normally buy were either out of stock or just nowhere to be found. Prices seemed fine, so there’s that, but if you’re looking for something specific, it can get annoying quickly. I might check back another time, but this visit definitely didn’t do much for me.

My order showed up without any issues, and the hops seemed fresh and totally usable. The only thing I’d like to see is a bit more detail about where each lot comes from, like the farm or source. For homebrewing, it just makes sense to know what you’re putting into your beer and where the ingredients started. Overall, it’s not a bad site at all, I just think a little more transparency would make it a lot more helpful.

I gave them another chance because I figured delays happen, but the delivery still didn’t show up on time and the tracking barely updated the whole time. At this point, I don’t think I’m being unreasonable for saying I’m done ordering hops from here...

I ordered some hops from Hops Direct after a friend recommended them, but a couple of the bags arrived a bit loose instead of tightly vacuum-sealed like I expected. One of them already had air inside when I opened the box. Maybe it was just a random packaging issue, but it makes me a little hesitant to trust the seal for storage

The shipping was just okay, honestly. It took longer than I thought it would, and when I reached out, I mostly got one of those canned apology responses that doesn’t really say much. Not the worst experience, but definitely a little frustrating

I was disappointed with these whole cones. As I was going through them, I kept noticing the same pattern: a lot of brown pieces mixed in and a stale smell that didn’t really go away. I was hoping it might just be a few bad spots, but it seemed consistent throughout the bag. Not really what I expected, and I wouldn’t buy these again.

I’ve ordered from Hops Direct a couple of times now, i’m a little biased because I really want to like them. The hops I’ve gotten have smelled fresh, brewed well, and the pricing feels reasonable compared to some other places I’ve looked.
That said, my last order took longer to show up than I expected, and the tracking barely updated, which drove me a bit nuts. I know shipping can be weird sometimes, but when I’m planning a brew day, I get impatient fast.

Overall, I’d still say they’re a decent place to buy hops, just not totally hassle-free. I’d order from them again, especially if the price is right, but probably not if I’m on a tight schedule.

I bought it in bulk thinking I’d save a decent amount, but i’m not sure it ended up being much of a deal. It still felt kind of overpriced to me.

I was disappointed with these. The second I opened them, they had that stale, old smell instead of the fresh hop aroma I was expecting. Like, come on, if I’m buying hops, I want them to actually smell fresh. These just didn’t.

The hops showed up just fine, no issues there. But the alpha acid number listed didn’t really seem to match how my brew turned out. My batch ended up way more bitter than I was aiming for, so something felt a little off.

A few had the basic details, but I personally wanted more info about aroma, flavor, and which beer styles they work best in. When I’m ordering hops online, I don’t really want to guess. I’m sure it’s fine if you already know exactly what you’re looking for, but for me, it just wasn’t that useful

I was expecting to find current crop hops easily, but a lot of the ones I was interested in were listed as older crop years or didn’t make the year clear. That gap between what I thought I’d be able to buy and what was actually available was frustrating, so I ended up giving up and ordering from another site.

I reached out and waited way too long for a reply, i still never really heard back. What a joke. Definitely not the kind of service I expected

The hops themselves were totally fine, but once shipping was added, the overall price just didn’t feel like a good deal. I was expecting better value and wouldn’t mind some kind of credit or adjustment to make up for it. I’ll probably compare prices more closely next time before ordering.
